    Hey Keiwan!

That sounds very interesting – I’ve been intending to restructure the site so that I could add some links to some of the things that I and other users have been working on – I would love to include the 3D version as part of that.

It may be a little while before I can start editing the site though – would you want to create a web player version on your own for now and I’ll think about how to integrate it with the website? Just send me a link when it’s ready!

    Cool!

Well I have now built a web player version which is basically exactly the same as the other standalone versions, however there is a problem: Every time I send a request to the website it throws an Error saying that there is a missing crossdomain.xml file. This obviously only happens with the web player since the standalones are working just fine. I am not too sure about if this is the reason or not but I read in a forum that it might be because the “game” is not hosted on the same server that the requests are being sent to. I can’t test whether this is true or not but I am sure that the only reason that the web player doesn’t show the pages and doesn’t answer any search requests is because of the “missing xml file” Error.

Here’s the download link for you so you can test it for yourself whenever you find the time:

Embedding it into a website should be pretty easy, here’s a link to how you can do in on wordpress sites:

There isn’t really a lot more to it, it’s either going to work or it’s not. You can do whatever you like with this version 🙂

Sounds good! I’ll try it out as soon as I can – hopefully if I put it up on my domain it’ll work! we’ll see.

This is really cool! I cannot wait to see what it will look like after it is complete! Are you ever planning on adding multiplayer? Because that would be cool to be able to go look for stuff in the library of Babel with my friends. Though I understand if you say no because I am sure it would not be easy to code that. Anyways keep up the good work. 🙂

The error I kept having was every time I opened a book the game would just freeze. Except for the occasional time it would work but would never work more than once in a row. It also occasionally crashes on the search menu.
    I run Windows 10 Home 64-bit
    I use a GTX 760
AMD FX 6300 six core base clock 3.5 GHz overclocked to 4.2 GHz
    8GB of RAM

If you need any more details just tell me I am glad to help anyway I can 🙂
I cannot wait till the game is completed 🙂 it is awesome 🙂

Yeah I figured out what it was, it should be fixed now. The weird thing was that everything worked correctly on my dad’s laptop – which is the only windows machine I can test on – however, it seems like it didn’t work on any other windows computer 😀

Along with this bug fix there’s also some other enhancements in the new update:
-fixed the bug that caused the rooms to be offset a little bit the further you travel through the library

    -added Librarians (beta):
-> you can find them in some of the rooms. They will take a random page from the room that they’re in (every 20 seconds), read it and translate bits of the “gibberish” based on a language similar to the one discussed here: https://libraryofbabel.info/forum/?topic=translating-the-gibberish
-> If you click on them they’ll tell you what they “know”.
You should keep in mind, that the language is not perfect yet and not everything they say makes sense, this will be improved over time. Also, it is very important to note that none of the sentences they say are pre-written, so I don’t take any responsibility for anything they tell you (which e.g. might be morally wrong) – just like the library itself.
Another point: I know that the “librarians” look more like creatures out of a horror game than actual librarians, but there is not much variety in free unity humanoid assets.

-added another little extra, that I don’t want to directly tell what it is. But always remember: “[Some] thought the first thing to do was eliminate all worthless books”
If you get lucky enough you might be able to witness that 🙂

this is very intriguing. borges kept me thinking about the library for years. to be able to walk trough a philosophical idea is just genius. thank you very much for this.
